Brury ‘Bui’ Sondakh
A Leader Guide with over 15 years of experience guiding expeditions throughout Indonesia, including 88 ascents of Carstensz Pyramid, Bui is renowned for his deep passion for adventure and exploration, from the oceans to the summits of Indonesia’s mountains. With a strong commitment to safety and success, Bui is dedicated to providing exceptional experiences, ensuring every trip is memorable, and inspiring a love of adventure in others. He has extensive expertise in leading diverse groups through challenging terrain, combining professionalism, enthusiasm, and a personal touch to create unique and rewarding expeditions.
Jeni ‘Poxy” Dainga
Born and raised on an island surrounded by the ocean after graduating from college, ‘Poxy’ followed his passion to seek other adventure challenges in the mountains, but his talent for how to live in the ocean did not disappear. “Poxy” from a child of the ocean to become a legend in the mountains and currently ‘Poxy holds the record 120 times leading climbers to one of the seven summits of the world, Carstensz Pyramid.
Meidy “Medz” Pesak
Together with Poxy and Bui at the university and in the wilderness adventures ‘Medz’ is very thorough and organized in every expedition and currently Medz has led more than 100 Carstensz climbs and is still continuing.

“Letter of Reference, In mid-March 2015 I joined an expedition to Carstenz Pyramide in Indonesia led by Mountain Professionals and Ryan Waters. The expeditions started with helicopter flight to Base Camp. Then a few days was spent in BC to acclimatize and prepare for the summit. We then climbed safely to the summit of Carstenz Pyramide at 4884m before we trekked for 5 days through the jungle. Bui Sondakh was one of the lead guides who guided the team safely from start to end of the expedition. He focused on safety, but also to make sure that all team members had a great experience. Bui was a critical reason for the success of the climb and trek. I have previously climbed Manaslu in Nepal, Aconcagua in Argentina, Denali in Alaska and several mountains in the Alps (Mont Blanc, Matterhorn etc) and I can honestly say that Bui was one of the best guides I have met.
